Family Guides on Suspension and Expulsion
The CSDE developed the Connecticut School Discipline Collaborative in 2018 to advise the Commissioner on strategies for transforming school discipline to reduce the overall and disproportionate use of exclusionary discipline. The Collaborative assisted in the development of two guidance documents for families in English and Spanish. The guides are designed to help families have a better understanding of the laws and policies on school suspensions and expulsions in Connecticut – they are not meant to provide legal advice.
