Process for applying for a volunteer position:
Step 1: Decide what type of volunteer you want to be as stated by Group 1 and Group 2 below.
Step 2: Complete the online application below which will be directly submitted to Christina Kluge in Human Resources. Please note that buildings have printed applications as well that can be submitted to Human Resources.
Step 3: Once you submit the application, Christina Kluge from Human Resources will email you directly to complete the appropriate background check (DCF or Fingerprinting).
Step 4: Once all appropriate checks have been completed, you will receive clearance from Human Resources. Clearance must be granted before any volunteers can fulfill the role of volunteering in any school.
Volunteer Group 1
If the volunteer is working under the direct supervision of a certified teacher during the period when the volunteer is working with children, a DCF check is required. This applies to volunteers who are assisting:
- with field trips
- with a teacher present
- with group events such as book fairs and dances

Volunteer Group 2
If the volunteer is working with students outside the direct supervision of a certified staff, then a criminal record check is required. The criminal record checks are at the expense of the volunteer. This applies to volunteers who will work:
- one on one/small group with student(s) without direct supervision of a certified staff present (field trip)
- as a Student Teacher or Intern
- as a coach
- as a chaperone on overnight-trips
