Mrs. Rigdon - Director

Audition Information

Auditions are open to any student in grades 5-8 at ELMS. No prior acting/singing/dancing experience is required. Each child will have a private audition in front of the Mrs. Rigdon - the director and Ms. Gunther - the choreographer. For your audition, you will sing a scale, sing the song selection and read the monologue (speech for one actor to the audience). These audition requirements are posted a week in advance to provide adequate preparation time. After each student has had his/her initial audition, a list of students asked to attend Callbacks (a second audition) will be posted on the Drama Club Bulletin Board. Callbacks take place as a group and will include singing, reading from the script and dancing if needed.

Rehearsal Schedule

Once the production has been cast, rehearsals will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays until 5:00 from October through January. All actors must have their own transportation home since there are no 5:00 late busses. Not every actor will be needed at every rehearsal, but could be called in to rehearse any of those three days.

Production Week Schedule

Production week involves evening rehearsals the week prior to opening night. During production week, costumes, set, makeup and lighting are incorporated. Attendance during this week is mandatory. There also are two Saturday technical rehearsal the week of and the week prior to production week.
