A Letter from the Principal
Dear Flanders Families,
Welcome to Flanders Elementary School!
Flanders has a long history of inspiring students to love learning in a safe and nurturing environment. Our faculty and staff embrace the district mission to “inspire, engage and educate each student to become a contributing citizen and a responsible, independent, and critical thinker.” At Flanders, we also challenge each student to work to their highest potential and promote creative thinking in a constantly changing world.
As a parent, I know how important the journey of school and learning is. As Principal at Flanders, I am committed to partnering with you to ensure your child’s success and to make that journey a memorable one. It is important to me that everyone who enters Flanders Elementary School feels they are welcome and part of our All-Star family!
You will find my door always open, so please make an appointment with our main office to visit or introduce yourself. I look forward to discussing your hopes and dreams for your child at Flanders School. I can’t express how privileged I feel to be part of your lives and the lives of your children!
My Best,
Danielle Schoman

What Makes an All-Star?
While Flanders Elementary School emphasizes the basic academic skills, we also feature extensive and diverse enrichment programs and activities. Flanders School is structured to provide a unique opportunity for students to explore in a nurturing environment that celebrates diversity and individuality.
Flanders School Goals:
- Grade level teams work interdependently to achieve common goals that directly impact student achievement.
- Support the three major principles of the common core state standards for Math (Focus, Coherence, Rigor) and are dedicated to the development and implementation of at least one unit of study.
- Elevate teacher knowledge along with student performance in developmental spelling and word working through application and transfer activities in Journeys Word Study Teacher's Guide for grades K-4.
- Support the social/emotional growth and well-being of all students.
