Special Education

East Lyme Public School provides education to students ages 3-21 eligible under IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) through a continuum of district services and supports. Students are educated with their non-disabled peers in the general education classes, Special Education classes, and related services.

East Lyme Public Schools has an obligation to find individuals with disabilities in the town to provide special education services. If you suspect a child has a disability, please call the East Lyme Public Schools Student Services Office at 860-739-3966 extension 5612 to make an appointment for a screening.

IEP

Extended School Year

Extended school year (ESY) are services provided beyond the length of the regular school year as described in the IEP and is provided at no cost to the parents. Eligibility for ESY must be determined each year for individual students who may be eligible to receive these services.
